Cooma Sixes

Cooma Sixes is a six-a-side football competition played on a smaller field with smaller goals, ensuring players get more touches of the ball and a lot more action. The competition consists of twenty rounds, with matches played on Wednesday night at Nijong Oval.

Cooma Sixes is a fantastic way to keep playing football all year round, staying fit and playing with your friends. With multiple age groups catered for, there is sure to be a competition that will suit you. The competition is open to all members of the community, regardless of whether you played winter football this season.

​

Cooma FC Sixes is six-a-side, weeknight football played from October to December this year & February to April 2025.

Do I have to be a member of the club to register?

​

No!

Anyone can play Cooma Sixes with Cooma FC, even if you’ve never played football before. You will have to register with Football Australia to receive a FFA number if you don’t already have one. There is no cost to this and is a simple process.

How do I register a team?

​

Once you have a team together one person from the team will need to register the team on PLAYINGA. That same person will be responsible for adding each player to the team in PLAYINGA. Scores are also recorded in PLAYINGA.

What competitions will you be running?

​

This year we will be running the following competitions

U12’s, U15’s, Open Men’s, Opens Woman’s & Open Mixed –

 

We will accept down to u10’s in U12’s parents should make a realistic assessment of their child’s size and playing ability

 

All U12’s & U15’s will need adult to take responsibility for the team.

What are the registration fees?

​

The fees this year will be as follows and are payable directly to the club before round 1.

Senior teams $450.0

Junior teams $250.00

Are there any additional registration fees?

​

No!

The only cost is the team registration fee. There is no individual fee, or any additional fees. Everything is covered in the team registration fee including referees, field hire, and insurance.

How do I pay registration fees?

One person per team is responsible for paying the whole fee. You can pay at the club house via eftpos or directly deposit into our bank account

How do I register as a player?

​

All players in a team must register individually with Football Australia.

​

Can I start my own team?

​

Yes, of course.

You can play with whoever you want. Organise a group of friends or teammates

​

How many players in a team?

​

At a minimum you will need 6. A few reserves are a good idea. Each team can have a maximum of 10 players.

What if I don’t know anyone to form a team with?

​

Don’t stress!! Get in contact with the club and we can steer you in the right direction

​

Can we supply our own uniform?

​

Yes.

We encourage teams to play in uniform and all teams are welcome to wear whatever uniform they want – At a minimum all teams must play in the same colour shirt, shin pads covered by long socks.

Do uniforms need to be numbered?

​

No

​

What are the rules and disciplinary procedures?

​

​

A player found to be playing in an over aggressive/ dangerous manner will be reported to the committee who will deliberate if any further action is required

​

What time/s are the games?

​

Junior games start from 5:30pm with senior games starting from 6.30pm.

​

Will there be finals?

​

Yes, there will be finals.

A Grand Final will be played between the teams finishing 1st and 2nd on the ladder at the conclusion of Round 19. All other teams will also have games scheduled on the final week.

What happens if there is a washout?

​

If it looks like adverse weather matches will be washed out, adverse weather is defined as 25mm rain in the previous 24hrs and or an active lightning storm at time of play. We will attempt to reschedule the match for a future date, but that will depend on time constraints.

Can we borrow players?

​

Borrowing 1 player from other teams is allowed if that player plays in goals. If more than 1 player is required a social game will be declared and the team who couldn’t field a full team will record a forfeit (5-0)

Can I play for multiple teams?

​

Yes

You may play in two teams if they are in different competitions, i.e. woman’s & mixed
